Matt Thomas, Ed.D., is the Executive Director of The Center for Christian Education at Baylor University. His research has focused on mentoring as development among Christian education faculty. His current role focuses on establishing the influence and reach of the CCE through Academies and Institutes on Baylor’s campus and across the United States. Dr. Thomas came to Baylor after serving in the field of Christian education for over 25 years through pastoral ministry, K-12 Christian schooling, Christian higher education, and Christian non-profit ministries. He received his Ed.D. in educational leadership from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2016. As Executive Director, he works alongside Dr. Jon Eckert, the Lynda and Robert Copple Endowed Chair for Christians in School Leadership, to research leadership development and practices, cultivate improvement communities, and build degree programs that serve Christians in diverse school contexts.
